Locate the moisture before choosing a repair

Wipe the room-facing surface and observe the glass again under dry conditions. Note whether the moisture is on the room side, outside, or still visible between panes. Record room humidity, cooking or shower timing, curtains, blinds, and nearby heat flow without treating one observation as a full diagnosis.

Location What it can indicate What to check next
Room side Indoor moisture meeting cold glass Ventilation, humidity, blinds, and airflow.
Outside Outdoor temperature and surface conditions Usually not an indoor leak by itself.
Between panes Sealed-unit or spacer failure Warranty, replacement unit, and frame condition.

The Department of Energy’s window guidance separates glazing, frame, air leakage, and installation. That is useful because replacing a glass unit may not solve a frame or water-management problem.

Limits

No humidity or window inspection was performed. This does not set a target indoor humidity, establish a warranty claim, or specify a replacement product.
