Measure in this order

Empty the drawer and remove it safely. Measure the cabinet’s usable depth from the front mounting plane to the first obstruction, then the drawer box length, height, width, and side clearance. Record whether the old slide is side-mount, undermount, or center-mount and whether it uses a face-frame adapter.

Check Why it can stop a bad purchase
Cabinet depth A long slide cannot compress a shallow cabinet.
Drawer-box length The slide travel and stop position depend on the box.
Side clearance Mounting style determines the required gap.
Face frame and rear mount The cabinet may need a specific bracket or adapter.
Load and motion A smooth empty drawer can bind when loaded.

Use the slide maker’s diagram rather than assuming nominal lengths are interchangeable. Mark screws, obstructions, plumbing, and shelves before drilling.

Limits

No specific slide brand, load rating, or cabinet was tested. Exact clearance, bracket, and load instructions control the replacement.
